ARMAGNAC, MANY CENTURIES OF HISTORY

Armagnac is linked with the Gascony identity. This Spirit was first mentioned in documents dating back to 1310, and since then Armagnac has always gain reputation. Since 1936, Armagnac is geographically declined in 3 AOC, corresponding to 3 specific terroirs : Bas-Armagnac, Armagnac-Téranèze and Haut-Armagnac. All together the 3 AOC cover 15 000 hectare of vine.

The Armagnac distillation

Armagnac is a spirit made from distillation of white wine. It is fruity and floral. The fruits are pressed and fermented to produce wine. The wine is distillate in winter in an “Armagnacais” alambic. The obtained spirit is transparent (White Armagnac). Aging in oak cast will give Armagnac its beautiful amber colour and its unique flavour.
